The Plan—CLOTHES MOTHS STEP 2-- Find the source of infestation. Remove all fabric items from your drawers and closets. Examine each item for infestation and throw away items that cannot be repaired. Infested items to be saved should be placed into plastic garbage bags or storage containers that seal completely. Mothballs can be added into the containers or bags to help stop further damage. Reproductive adults may have laid eggs in the midst of clothes or in the cracks and crevices of drawers. Do not return the items to your drawers and closets until after the treatment. STEP 3--Our technician will treat all areas of the drawers or infested closets, especially the cracks and crevices, to kill any remaining pests and their eggs. Once he has completed the treatment of the affected areas and they are dry, you are free to return the uninfested items back to the drawers and closets. Do not clean the treated areas after the treatment. This will remove the materials used to combat your problem and leave you unprotected. You may continue to see a few of the moths after the initial service. Just swat them with a fly swatter, and they should disappear, as they can no longer return to the areas of infestation.
The Plan—CARPET BEETLES STEP 2--Carpet beetle adults, larvae, and eggs may be found along the edge of the carpet next to the walls or even inside furniture. They will also attack animal and grain products, and may be found in attics, fireplaces, and other unusual areas. These areas must all be thoroughly inspected for proper treatment. STEP 3--The carpet will be thoroughly treated along the edges and baseboards, underneath (when accessible), and overall if needed. Furniture will be treated if it is infested, as well as other areas. NOTE--Because of the nature of a fabric pest infestation, there are no guarantees on this type of service. An extensive infestation may take more than one treatment to eradicate the pests.. |
